Transportation from Chiang Mai International Airport

Chiang Mai International Airport is located only 10-15 minutes drive from the city centre. There are several transportation options for passengers wanting to get into the city or out to rural areas, including limousine and car rental services. Transportation service counters are located on the 1st floor opposite domestic and international arrival lounge.

Official airport taxis are available just outside the terminal building. Airport taxis currently have a fixed price of 120 Baht for most city centre destinations. Tuk Tuks and Songteaws (Local small red buses) are available outside the airport, although you may have to walk out to the front of the airport car park to get one of these which usually pass regularly. Songteaw's should cost between 20-50 baht per person, depending on the number of people travelling with you and Tuk Tuk's can vary in price from between 60-160 baht.

The return trip to the airport is usually a little cheaper, however many hotels offer free transfers to and from the airport so do check with your hotel to see if they offer this service.

Airport Hotels

As Chiang Mai Airport is only 10-15 minutes from the city centre, airport hotels are not really needed. However, there is only one good, cheap option for those who would like to be as close as possible (for that early or late flight) which is Airport Resident.
